We introduce branded crockery into our restaurants and hit ’97 with a bang.
It’s our 10th birthday and with 102 South African restaurants and 37 international restaurants, we’re flying. So are our pay-off lines – ‘Poultry in motion’ and ‘Natural born grillers’ – both still going strong today.
We also launch our Grocery range with Wild Herb, Garlic, Mild, Hot and Extra Hot PERi-PERi sauces. We can now be found in most major SA supermarkets. We can be found on google.com too, which gets registered as a domain name that year.
1998 sees us opening our doors in Bangsar in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. We’ve now got restaurants in 11 countries around the world!
We also produced our 1 millionth bottle of PERi-PERi sauce and Nando’s Grocery celebrates its first birthday with listings in the UK’s top six supermarket chains. It’s tasty stuff.
In 1999, the six billionth human being is born, and so is Nando’s Saudi Arabia. It’s our first restaurant in the Middle East.
